Officials say it signals progress but highlight that most surveyed report chronic homelessness, disabilities, and that over a quarter first became homeless in Boulder, guiding future local support efforts.

CU Boulder named official university partner of Sundance Film Festival (denver7.com subscription) — CU Boulder has been named the official university partner of the Sundance Film Festival as the event relocates to Boulder in January 2027, using major local venues like Boulder Theater and Chautauqua Auditorium. Students will gain access to internships, volunteer roles, discounted tickets, special screenings, and sustainability research opportunities, tying the global film showcase directly into campus and city life.
3. Boulder will begin collecting its new transportation fee in 2027 (boulderreportinglab.org) — Boulder will start adding a new transportation maintenance fee to utility bills in 2027, funding repairs to roads, bridges, sidewalks and other infrastructure as sales tax revenue plateaus.
