Senior Dane Wyman threw a complete game in a 2-1 win and added key hits as the Cubs went 2-0, with strong fan voting pushing him past four other nominees.
   

• Forest Service Seattle, Wenatchee labs to close in restructuring (camaspostrecord.com) — Fort Collins is slated to become the consolidated management hub for U.S. Forest Service research labs as the agency closes 57 facilities nationwide and moves its headquarters to Salt Lake City. While the story centers on Seattle and Wenatchee closures, the shift could bring more administrative and research leadership activity to Fort Collins tied to federal forest management.
   

• Plan to finally connect Denver and Boulder by train brings cheers (denverpost.com) — Fort Collins is slated as one of the stops on a new Front Range rail “starter service” that would run three daily roundtrips between Denver, Boulder, and other cities by 2029. State officials are pitching a future tax increase to expand this into a higher-frequency Colorado Connector line from Fort Collins to Pueblo.
