3. The Steamboat Springs High School Mountain Bike team wraps up the season in 2nd place at state (steamboatradio.com) — High school mountain bikers from across Colorado just wrapped up their state championships at Colorado Mountain College’s Spring Valley campus outside Glenwood Springs, where Steamboat Springs High School took second in Division I. Crystal River Ranch named AHA Commercial Producer of the Year (thefencepost.com) — A longtime cattle operation working the Roaring Fork Valley and high country southeast of Glenwood Springs, Crystal River Ranch in Carbondale has been named the American Hereford Association’s Commercial Producer of the Year. The ranch runs 500 cows at elevations up to 10,000 feet, using Hereford-Angus genetics and careful stewardship to boost weaning weights and support the region’s ranching economy.
   

5. Carbondale firefighters battle back-to-back blazes (westernslopenow.com) — Firefighters from Carbondale and Glenwood Springs spent Monday battling two separate structure fires in Carbondale that destroyed an outbuilding and heavily damaged a home. With mutual aid from regional agencies, crews contained both blazes and then urged residents to check smoke alarms, plan two escape routes per room, and keep a clear household evacuation plan.
