Calvary Planned to Expand (goldentoday.com) — Demolition of eight low-income apartments is set for Friday, Sept. 23, clearing the way for Calvary Church's long-planned expansion in downtown Golden. A look back at a 1994 Golden Transcript story shows how the church's growth, street vacation, and property purchases reshaped the 13th–14th and Arapahoe area, including today's plaza and parking garage locals use regularly.
   

2. Colorado officials outline 8-project portfolio projected to produce 1,600 homes (thebadger.news) — State officials highlighted the Golden Range proposal, which could bring about 378 affordable and attainable rental and for-sale homes to Golden for households earning 30% to 140% of area median income. The project still faces site and community issues, with zoning expected to wrap up in 2027 and construction starting in 2028, meaning residents should watch now for engagement opportunities and long-term neighborhood impacts.
   

3. Can you explain why the red arrow and a yellow arrow lights at 44th & McIntyre were on at the same time? (krystal93.com) — If you drive between Denver and Golden via 44th and McIntyre, Jefferson County has just changed how the left-turn signals work after a wiring glitch showed red and yellow arrows together. North–south McIntyre drivers must now wait for a green arrow to turn left, while 44th Avenue still uses flashing yellow arrows, part of broader signal upgrades aimed at safety and smoother traffic.
   

4. Rock climber gets stuck on cliff near Golden (denvergazette.com) — Emergency crews from Golden and Arvada safely rescued a climber stranded by a gear malfunction on North Table Mountain, just north of town. The incident, which ended without injuries, is a reminder for Golden-area climbers to double-check their equipment and keep ropes and devices clear of straps or hitches that can jam during ascent or descent.
