• Colorado man arrested on charges of tampering with Front Range water supply systems, diverting ditch (denverpost.com) — Golden's drinking water supply is part of a Front Range system prosecutors say was repeatedly tampered with, allegedly diverting millions of dollars' worth of water away from cities including Golden and Northglenn. A 65-year-old man now faces multiple felony charges as state and local authorities emphasize protecting critical water infrastructure.
• Wolves gut out 22-20 road win at Mines in opener (d2football.com) — College football fans in Golden saw a tight season opener at Marv Kay Stadium, where Western Oregon edged Colorado School of Mines 22–20. Mines' defense kept it close, but Western Oregon's strong running game and a key late interception helped the visitors hand the Orediggers a narrow home loss.
