• Domestic violence survivors in Jefferson County targeted by scammers within hours of a loved one's arrest (denver7.com) — Lakewood-based officials are warning Jefferson County residents that scammers are posing as jail staff and demanding rapid "pre-trial bail" payments from domestic violence survivors, sometimes just hours after an arrest. Advocates say several victims have already lost thousands of dollars and urge anyone receiving urgent payment calls about bond to pause, verify independently, and contact trusted local victim services before sending money.
