• Teen scooter-rider killed in crash with speeding Tesla in Lakewood (denverpost.com) — A 17-year-old riding an electric scooter was killed in a late-night crash at South Wadsworth Boulevard and West Mexico Place in Lakewood, and a 34-year-old driver now faces vehicular homicide and reckless driving charges. Police say the Tesla was traveling nearly double the speed limit and are still investigating, asking any Lakewood witnesses to call 303-987-7291 with information.
   

• Robert 'Bob' Williams Mason (powelltribune.com) — Longtime Lakewood resident Robert "Bob" Mason, a civil engineer and Vietnam veteran who worked at Coors Brewery, has died at age 86. He and his wife Kathy built their life together in Lakewood before retiring to Wyoming, where he enjoyed golf, woodworking, and family time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
   

• Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen Introduces Legislation to Uncover How Trump's Mass Federal Workforce Firings Have Delayed Constituent Casework (house.gov) — From her Lakewood office, Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen is pushing new legislation to investigate how Trump-era federal workforce cuts are slowing down help for local residents with Social Security, taxes, student aid, and disaster relief. The bill would order a comprehensive study of layoffs' impact on casework and essential services, with backing from several major federal employee unions.
