2. Littleton Colorado High School Mourns Freshman Football Player's Sudden Death (communitynews.org) — Columbine High School in Littleton is mourning freshman football player Noah Vesich, who died unexpectedly earlier this week, prompting an outpouring of grief and support. The school has shared brief, respectful statements while a GoFundMe campaign, already nearing $30,000, is helping his family cover autopsy and funeral costs. Community donations and messages continue to grow as details remain limited.
   

3. Jeopardy! Bar League Returns Oct. 4 With More Prizes Including VIP Jeopardy! Experience (milehighonthecheap.com) — Littleton trivia fans can join the free Jeopardy! Bar League when its new 10‑week season kicks off October 4, with local bars hosting weekly games tied into regional and national leaderboards. Teams will compete for cash, casting auditions, and even a VIP trip to meet Ken Jennings, with more than $18,000 in prizes available across Colorado locations.
   

4. WATCH: Tortoise rescued by Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, neighbors after escaping yard (krdo.com) — A runaway 100‑pound Sulcata tortoise named Lard briefly roamed a Littleton neighborhood before Jefferson County animal control and a helpful neighbor carried him safely back home. The late‑August escape prompted an official response after the tortoise slipped out of a fenced yard and wandered into nearby streets, but he's now back where he belongs.
   

5. Ballot Measure 7A: Front Range Passenger Rail District (cpr.org) — Littleton shoppers would pay an extra 0.333% sales tax if Ballot Measure 7A passes, helping fund Front Range passenger rail service that includes a Littleton station. The measure would expand train frequency between Pueblo and Fort Collins, add a new Amtrak stop in Trinidad, and return some revenue to station communities for infrastructure and housing, while critics question costs, timelines, and accountability.
