1. 06/10/26 MCSO Blotter (montrosecountysheriffsoffice.com) — Montrose County deputies handled a busy day of calls, from speeding and fraud reports to welfare checks, animal complaints, and several suspicious-activity investigations across local roads and neighborhoods. The blotter also lists recent warrant arrests involving Montrose and Olathe residents, along with civil processes, directed patrols, and VIN inspections completed by the sheriff’s office.
   

2. Montrose Board of Education formally accepts nearly $6.2 million BEST grant for early childhood facility (westernslopenow.com) — Montrose County School District has officially accepted a nearly $6.2 million state BEST grant to turn the Montrose Field House on Colorado Avenue into a new early childhood center. Combined with district matching funds, the $12.6 million project will expand preschool learning spaces and family resources, and officials say community input will guide the design and future updates.
   

3. 1 dead after Kayla Trail shooting (montrosepress.com) — A man is dead after a Thursday afternoon shooting on Kayla Trail, and Montrose County authorities are treating the death as suspicious while awaiting coroner findings. The Colorado State Patrol and Montrose Police assisted, including chasing a vehicle whose driver fled toward Cedar Cemetery, though investigators have not confirmed any connection between that person and the shooting.
   

4. Montrose County Seeks Digital Time Capsule Submissions, Announces September Ceremony (einpresswire.com) — Montrose County is inviting local organizations, schools, and groups to submit one digital item that captures life in Montrose County today for a new time capsule to be sealed in the Historic Courthouse on September 15, 2026. Submissions must come from official entities, follow file-size and labeling rules, and will be collected online ahead of a public placement ceremony this fall.
