1. Northglenn clamps down with mandatory water restrictions (northglenn-thorntonsentinel.com) ā Northglenn has activated Stage 2 Drought rules, meaning all residents and businesses now face mandatory watering schedules, drought surcharges for high use, and fines starting at $50 for violations. Outdoor watering is limited to assigned days and off-peak hours, and the city is also cutting back irrigation in parks. Officials urge residents to fix leaks, adjust sprinklers, and explore available rebates for waterāsaving upgrades.

2. NAFWS launches open-access, Indigenous-led research publication (nativesunnews.today) ā Based in Northglenn, the Native American Fish & Wildlife Society is launching an open-access, peer-reviewed publication called From the Field ā Elevating Indigenous Voices, authored entirely by Tribal fish and wildlife professionals. The new journal, available at nafws.org, aims to expand access to research, center Indigenous knowledge systems, and provide a dedicated platform for Tribal-led conservation work.

3. Colorado spice bomb vendor among thousands blindsided by Painted Tree shutdown (9news.com) ā Northglenn vendors at Painted Tree Boutiques were abruptly told to clear out their booths after the chain suddenly shut all 60 stores nationwide on April 13. Local small business owner Kristina Camacho, whose Bombitas Spice Bombs relied heavily on the Northglenn location, is now scrambling to recover financially after signing a new commercial kitchen lease just weeks before the closure.

4. Northglenn lawmaker pushes bill to support crime survivors (northglenn-thorntonsentinel.com) ā A Northglenn-based state representative is backing a Colorado bill to give crime survivors stronger rights and protections in the justice system. The proposal would improve victim notifications, allow more remote testimony, curb forced arbitration in sexual misconduct disputes, and expand traumaāinformed training for law enforcement. If passed, it could reshape how survivors across Colorado, including Northglenn residents, navigate investigations and court proceedings.
