• Colorado tribes seek representation on state wildlife commission (buffalosfire.com) — Southern Ute Tribal Council member Andrew Gallegos is pressing for tribal representation on Colorado’s powerful Parks and Wildlife Commission, which manages a $365 million budget and statewide wildlife policy. At the commission’s first meeting on tribal land, he and Ute Mountain Ute leaders highlighted that no tribal member has ever served, despite long-standing wildlife agreements with the state.
