From the Campbell Sullivan SkiFast Award to student, coach, and volunteer recognitions, the club highlighted young snowsports standouts and the educators and community members who support them.

Budget cuts will make building affordable homes in Colorado's mountains even harder, housing advocates say (vaildaily.com) ā State budget cuts to Coloradoās Proposition 123 funding could slow or shrink affordable housing projects serving Vail, including Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley homes in Gypsumās Stratton Flats and Vailās Timber Ridge complex. Local advocates warn that losing land banking and loan dollars will make it even harder for Eagle County workers to find attainable homes as prices top $2 million.

3. Most skiers have heard of Warren Miller. A new exhibit explores what you didn't know. (star-telegram.com) ā A new Warren Miller exhibit at the Colorado Snowsports Museum in Vail highlights the legendary filmmakerās life, gear, and deep ties to the town where he lived and wrote for years. With free admission at the Vail Transportation Center, locals can explore historic cameras, ski equipment, artwork, and stories that helped shape both the ski industry and Vailās own culture.

4. Copper Mountain bucks trend, will stay open longer than planned (denverpost.com) ā Vailās ski season is already over, but nearby Copper Mountain is extending its closing date to May 3 thanks to strong snow coverage and cool spring weather. Several other Colorado resorts, including Breckenridge, Aspen, and Winter Park, will shut down this Sunday, while Loveland closes April 26. Copper is also offering discounted late-season lift tickets and a special Party Laps evening on May 1.
