Anythink Thornton Community Center

Explore a new kind of conversation — one without words. In this 
movement‑based workshop, Franklin Cruz will guide participants through 
club‑style dance exercises (including hip‑hop, waacking and house) to 
explore storytelling through motion. Discover what the body can say 
about vision, narrative and self‑expression.
No experience needed—just an open mind and willingness to play. All 
ages, levels and mobility accommodations can be met with some 
communication and collaboration.

Moving the Words is for writers who want to explore the hybrid of movement and writing.
Join Franklin Cruz to play between the fiction behind words and then 
the fiction behind movement. What does each art inform us about in 
regard to creativity? Let’s play and explore through some fun 
mobility-friendly dance exercises to see how that makes haikus, flash 
fictions and performance different.&nbsp;
Appropriate for teens and adults. This program will be hosted in English and Spanish. Space is limited; registration required.&nbsp;

proceso híbrido de movimiento y escritura. Acompaña a Franklin Cruz a

 Adams County Poet Laureate Aerik Francis for an evening of inspiring 
performances and deep conversation exploring the relationships between 
music, movement and poetry. 
Where do these art forms differ, and where do they share 
commonalities? How can we explore other art forms to dive more deeply 
into our own? The evening will be filled with performances by Franklin Cruz, 
Suzi Q. Smith, Aerik Francis and Angie Ráfaga, followed by a discussion 
and Q&amp;A with the performers. Attendees will have a chance to learn 
from these artists and ask their own questions of them. Whether you’re a
 poet, a dancer, musician or none of the above, The Exchange is sure to 
be an evening of inspiration and connection.

 All ages are welcome! This event is free and will be hosted in English. No registration is required to attend.
