WFSB is predicting mugginess will return Thursday, “as a stalled boundary offshore lifts in our direction.”

“It will lead to an increase in cloudiness and the chance for showers,” WFSB reports. “For now, we think the greatest likelihood for wet weather will be in the afternoon and early evening. Keep in mind this is an evolving situation. If the boundary were to move farther north, then showers would spread over more of the state. Conversely, if it stays far enough to our south, we could end up drier.”

The National Weather Service predicts Friday will be mostly sunny, with highs between 80 and 85 degrees. The cooler temperatures will be toward the coast.

For the weekend, it is predicting partly sunny days on Saturday and Sunday, with a 40 to 50 percent chance of showers both days.

WFSB calls the upcoming weekend “a bit of a forecasting frustration,” with longer range model data “all over the place.”

“As of now, Saturday is mainly dry but features an increase in cloudiness and an uptick in humidity,” WFSB reports. “Sunday is muggier and more unsettled, with a higher likelihood for showers.”
