Strong Storm Emerges In CT Forecast: Here's When, What To Know
Find out the weekend forecast and when the next storm is expected to impact the state.
Heavy rain and strong winds are in the forecast for early next week, according to meteorologists.
In the short term, today through Sunday will be mostly dry, aside from a chance for scattered showers Friday night, according to the National Weather Service. Daytime high temperatures today and throughout the weekend will be in the 40s.

WFSB is calling Monday a First Alert Weather Day due to the potential impact on travel and expected minor flooding.

“We’re now expecting a gusty wind and 1-2″ of rainfall,” WFSB reports.
While Monday will be rainy, it will be warm, with high temperatures between 55 and 60 degrees, according to WFSB.
WTNH is also predicting a storm on Monday, with “heavy rain and strong wind gusts.”
NBC Connecticut Chief Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan is predicting heavy rain Monday and into Monday night across Connecticut, with between one and three inches of rain and localized flooding.
Timing of the rain
The National Weather Service predicts the rain will start early Monday morning, with periods of heavy rainfall and even a chance of thunderstorms on Monday during the day. The rain will last into Monday night and taper off early Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Today: Increasing clouds, with a high near 45. South wind 6 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Tonight: A 30 percent chance of rain before 11 p.m. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 36. Southwest wind 13 to 15 mph.
Saturday: Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 48. Breezy, with a west wind 14 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Saturday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 31. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light northwest.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. Northeast wind 6 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.
Sunday Night: Rain, mainly after 5 a.m. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 37. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
