Avon Lions Carnival Returns This Weekend With Rides, Games And Fireworks

The Avon Lions Carnival returns Oct. 2-4 with rides, food, games, and Saturday night fireworks.

AVON, CT — The Avon Lions Carnival returns this weekend for three days of rides, food, games and fireworks.

The carnival will be held Friday through Sunday, Oct. 2-4, at 99 Thompson Road in Avon, according to an event flyer from the Avon Lions.

Hours are 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

A fireworks display is scheduled for 9:15 p.m. Saturday. Originally slated for Friday, the fireworks show was moved to Saturday, Oct. 3, earlier this week..

Ride tickets will cost $2 each, with three to four tickets required per ride. A sheet of 21 tickets costs $35, while a $35 wristband provides unlimited rides.

The carnival is cash only.

In addition to the rides, the weekend event will feature food and games.

Event proceeds benefit the myriad causes supported by the local Lions Club.
