• Eversource Helicopters To Inspect Power Lines In 22 CT Towns (patch.com) — Berlin residents may notice low-flying Eversource helicopters as the utility inspects high-voltage transmission lines across 22 Connecticut towns. The patrols, scheduled for Aug. 27 and Sept. 3, aim to spot vegetation and maintenance issues to protect electric reliability during storm season. 
• Berlin schools focus on future-ready skills as students return to class (newbritainherald.com) — Berlin Public Schools are launching the "Future Ready 2040" effort this year, updating curriculum and instruction so today's preschoolers graduate ready for 2040. Superintendent Brian Benigni says the district will emphasize high-quality teaching, a strong sense of belonging in Berlin classrooms, and smarter use of data to boost student growth, all while working within a tighter-than-requested budget.
