• Dump truck driver accused in fatal Bloomfield hit-and-run wasn't wearing his glasses, warrant says (nhregister.com) — Bloomfield police have charged a Windsor dump truck driver with second-degree manslaughter in connection with a fatal hit-and-run on Woodland Avenue last November. According to an arrest warrant, the driver, who is required to wear corrective lenses, allegedly was not wearing them when his truck struck a pedestrian in a reflective jacket before leaving the scene; his arraignment is now set for August 18 in Hartford. 
• Get to Know Your Orange: #3, RB Davion Kerr (nunesmagician.com) — A Bloomfield High School alum, running back Davion Kerr is entering his sophomore season with Syracuse after contributing mainly on special teams last year. The Bloomfield native is now full-time at running back and expected to compete for carries and kick-return duties after impressing coaches in spring practices.
