Branford BoE Extends Superintendent Dr. Christopher Tranberg's Contract Through June 2029
The extension "reaffirms the board's confidence in his leadership and commitment to the continued success of Branford Public Schools:" BoE.

BRANFORD, CT — Noting he demonstrates "exceptional leadership," the Branford Board of Education announced Thursday that it's extended schools superintendent Christopher Tranberg's contract through June 30, 2029.
In a news release, it's noted that the extension "reaffirms the board's confidence in his leadership and commitment to the continued success of Branford Public Schools."
"Dr. Tranberg has demonstrated exceptional leadership during a period of significant progress and transformation for our schools," board chair Peter Berdon said. "His commitment to collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement has positioned Branford Public Schools for long-term success. We are excited to continue this work together through 2029."

Since joining Branford Public Schools as superintendent in 2023, "Dr. Tranberg has worked collaboratively with students, staff, families, community members, and the Board of Education to strengthen communication, build trust, and foster a shared vision for the future of the district."
Under Dr. Tranberg's leadership, the district has achieved several important milestones, including the development and implementation of a comprehensive five-year strategic coherence plan that serves as a roadmap for advancing student achievement, organizational effectiveness, and community engagement.

The district has also successfully developed a Master Facilities Plan, establishing a clear vision for the future of Branford's educational facilities.
As a result, multiple large-scale improvement projects are
now underway, ensuring that students and staff have access to learning environments that support excellence in teaching and learning.
Recognizing the importance of culture and leadership development, Branford Public Schools has implemented the Leader in Me framework across the district. This initiative empowers students and staff to develop leadership skills, strengthen relationships, and create positive school cultures that support academic and personal growth.
Most recently, Branford Public Schools became the first municipal K-12 school district in Connecticut to earn High Reliability Schools (HRS) Level 1 certification from Marzano Resources.
This distinction recognizes that the district has established systems and structures that create and continuously improve
the conditions necessary for a safe, supportive, and collaborative culture for both students and staff.
"Together, we have made meaningful progress in strengthening our schools and building a culture
focused on growth, opportunity, and excellence," Tranberg said. "I am grateful for the partnership of our Board of Education, staff, students, families, and community members. I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure every student thrives."
In a news release, the board said its "decision to extend Dr. Tranberg's contract reflects its appreciation for the progress achieved over the past three years and its confidence in the district's continued direction under his leadership."
