Eleanor Douglas obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Eleanor Douglas, 92 of New Haven passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026 at the Mary Wade House in New Haven. She was born January 24, 1934 in New Haven to Norman and Charlotte (Seeley) Townley. Eleanor is survived by her three children; Edwin Douglas Jr. of East Haven, Lynn Douglas of Naugatuck and David Douglas (Debbie) of West Haven, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Josephine Douglas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edwin Douglas Sr. (1998) and a son, Mark Douglas (2021).
Eleanor was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She loved to shop, especially going to Boscov’s and tag sales. She would actually “shop to you drop.” If not shopping, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod and taking in the outdoors.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday September 2, 2026 from 9 AM until the time of service at 11 AM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven with burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
