• Moped Operator Injured After Rt 1 Crash Wednesday Night: Branford Police (patch.com) — A moped rider was hospitalized after being hit by a car near Route 1 and Orchard Hill Road in Branford on Wednesday night, according to local police. Officers say the car's driver stayed at the scene, showed no signs of impairment, and was cited for failing to grant the right of way.
   

• CT man whose drug trafficking activity was connected to 'an overdose death' could face life in prison (courant.com) — Federal authorities say a West Haven man pleaded guilty to leading a fentanyl and cocaine trafficking operation tied to at least one overdose death in the greater New Haven area. Branford police were among numerous local departments on the DEA task force that investigated, which seized large quantities of drugs and firearms and now has the defendant facing up to life in prison.
