• $100,000 Scratch-Off Ticket Sold In Branford: CT Lottery (patch.com) — Branford residents might want to check their favorite convenience store after a $100,000 winning CASHWORD 2nd Edition scratch-off ticket was sold at 350 Foxon Road Food Mart on East Main Street. The lucky winner, a Stamford resident who chose to remain anonymous, claimed one of just four $100,000 prizes available in the $30 game.

• Branford High School Names Press Box in Honor of Longtime Announcer, Community Volunteer Paul J. Criscuolo (patch.com) — Branford residents are celebrating longtime sports announcer and volunteer Paul J. Criscuolo, whose name now graces the Branford High School press box after a special ceremony on September 25. A 1967 Branford High graduate and Hall of Fame inductee, he was honored for decades of supporting Branford student-athletes through coaching, organizing youth sports, and serving as the beloved voice of Branford athletics.
