Car plunges over Branford seawall onto rocky beach, driver rescued, officials say (thehour.com) — Emergency crews in Branford rescued a driver Thursday after a car went over the seawall on Linden Avenue and landed on the rocky beach, sending the person to a local hospital. Fire officials report no environmental leaks and are urging residents to use extra caution along shoreline seawalls, especially where barriers are limited or drop-offs are steep.
   

2. Two juveniles arrested in stolen vehicle case in Branford (newportdispatch.com) — Branford police arrested two 14-year-olds after finding two stolen vehicles near the All Pets Club on East Main Street, including one with a smashed rear window and damaged ignition. Officers tracked the teens to a nearby motel, filed multiple larceny and motor vehicle charges, and transported them to Bridgeport Juvenile Detention ahead of a New Haven court appearance.

She says sustained investment in early reading, teacher coaching, and evidence-based instruction is essential to give every Connecticut child a stronger start in school and break cycles of poverty.
