BRANFORD, CT—Branford schools have chosen Walsh Intermediate School House Principal Dianne Dadio for its weekly "staff spotlight."

"She's the kind of person who makes every student, staff member, and family feel seen, valued, and supported," the school district noted. "Each morning, she greets students with a warm smile and positive energy, regardless of how challenging the previous day may have been."

The school district described her as consistently setting high expectations for students "while encouraging them to believe in their own potential, helping to elevate both confidence and academic achievement."

"Dianne is always willing to support staff, collaborate with colleagues, and communicate openly with families to ensure students receive the care and guidance they need to succeed," schools posted to Facebook. "Her deep social-emotional awareness reminds all of us that mental health is just as important as academics and physical well-being."

Of note is that "long before it became a statewide focus," she advocated for restorative practices and relationship-building as essential parts of a positive school culture.
