• Bridgeport police investigate St. Stephens Road shooting (thehour.com) — Bridgeport police are investigating a Saturday evening shooting on St. Stephens Road after ShotSpotter detected eight rounds and a person with a gunshot wound later arrived at a local hospital. Officials have not released the victim's condition, and the case remains under active investigation, so residents in that area may notice an increased police presence while detectives work to piece together what happened.
   

• Bridgeport nonprofit combats deadly new drug wave (news12.com) — A Bridgeport-based nonprofit, Liberation Programs, is warning residents about a new wave of highly dangerous street drugs, including a toxic mix of fentanyl and the veterinary sedative Xylazine. The group is responding with drug analysis, fentanyl test strips, and Narcan distribution, but urges Bridgeport and statewide communities to stay alert and better understand what's in the local drug supply.
