• New Regional Trail Network Could Connect 7 Western CT Towns (patch.com) — Brookfield residents could soon see the Still River Greenway extended north and south as part of a major regional trail network linking seven western Connecticut towns. Local economic development officials say the project is in the design and public input phase, with a new website inviting community feedback before funding and construction are pursued.
   

• Pirate's Pride Begins Rebuilding Famous Candlewood Lake Pirate Ship (i95rock.com) — Brookfield residents recently rallied at Pulchinella's Restaurant to raise money to rebuild the beloved Pirate's Pride ship on Candlewood Lake after storm damage on July 4. The pirate-themed fundraiser supports efforts to restore the family-favorite attraction in time for the 2027 season, and locals can still follow or support the project through its Facebook page.
   

• Dolly Parton to Be Honored With Corn Mazes in These States (wibc.com) — Brookfield families can explore a Dolly Parton–themed corn maze at The Corn Maze at Twins BBQ Co. this fall, with part of each ticket supporting her Imagination Library. The attraction features Dolly-inspired paths, games, and photo spots, tying local fun to a major literacy effort honoring the late country legend.
