📰 News we're reading

• Real estate and sales transactions data across CT, town-by-town. Check it out here (courant.com) — Brookfield property records show several recent home and land sales, including transactions on Old Middle Road, Riverford Road, and Bramble Way, giving a snapshot of current prices and activity. If you're thinking about buying, selling, or appealing your assessment in Brookfield, these public records offer a useful benchmark for what neighbors' properties are actually going for.

• CT GOP leadership lobbies for gas, diesel tax holiday (westfaironline.com) — Brookfield's own Senate Republican leader Stephen Harding is helping spearhead a push in Hartford to suspend Connecticut's gas and diesel taxes through year's end, citing rising fuel prices tied to the Iran conflict. The proposal could trim a few dollars off each fill-up, but would also temporarily reduce revenue for the state's Special Transportation Fund, so lawmakers and the governor still need to agree on whether to act.
