The patrols, part of routine storm-preparedness work, will check rights-of-way for vegetation or other issues that could threaten electric reliability in Cheshire and neighboring communities.

The attack follows a June incident at Cheshire Correctional Institution where six employees were hurt, underscoring ongoing safety concerns for correctional staff across Connecticut.
