Mayor Roberto Alves is reassuring the community that local police are not conducting immigration enforcement, urging residents to know their legal rights, and calling for due process and broader immigration reforms while Governor Ned Lamont questions the focus of the federal operation.
   

• Police identify Danbury man killed in Waterbury pedestrian crash (ctpost.com) — A 43-year-old Danbury man, Marco Leon-Lopez, was killed when he was struck by an SUV on South Main Street in Waterbury, police said. The driver faces charges including second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle and operating under the influence, with bond set at $750,000 and a court appearance scheduled Tuesday.
