Aquarion To Start Lengthy Water Main Work In Darien: Details

DARIEN, CT — Aquarion Water Company plans to begin replacing water mains on Middlesex Road, Lantern Lane, Noroton Avenue and Revere Road on Oct. 5, the company announced this week.

The work is expected to be completed in 2027, with final paving to be scheduled in coordination with the town.

The project will replace about 5,600 feet of water main. Aquarion said the work is part of an ongoing effort to improve its distribution system and reduce leaks and water main breaks that can interrupt service.

"We greatly appreciate residents' patience during this project," said Aaron Nezvesky, Aquarion’s Manager of Utility Programs, in a news release. "We will work closely with our customers, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions."

Customers on Noroton Road and Middlesex Road should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during work hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Revere Road and Lantern Lane, work hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with minor delays and possible detours. Norwalk-based M. Rondano Inc. is the contractor.
