Retired Fire Pumper Truck Up For Auction In Darien

DARIEN, CT — Residents now have the chance to own their own pumper truck.

A retired Noroton Heights Fire Department pumper truck (Engine 23) is up for auction by Municibid, an online auction platform that helps state and local governments, schools, and other agencies sell assets to the public.

As of Friday afternoon, there were 14 bids for the truck, a Mack CF Fire Pumper. The starting bid was $250, and the high bid was $2,900.

According to the listing, the now-drained truck has 74,000 miles and was in service as recently as eight months ago. It still works and can be driven right out to the road. Delivery is not available.

Proceeds from Municibid auctions go directly to the seller. All sales are final.

In addition to the truck, the Town of Darien is also auctioning off a mower, tractor, sewer trailer jetter, a 2012 Ford F250 with snow plow, a 2009 Dodge Charger and other assorted vehicles and equipment.
