2 Displaced In Ellington Fire

ELLINGTON, CT — Two people were displaced after a multi-alarm house fire on Sprucewood Drive Friday, July 31, according to the Ellington Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the residential street at about 1:56 p.m. and contained the blaze by 2:25 p.m., according to the Journal Inquirer, which cited Ellington Volunteer Fire Department Chief Cole Prato.

The fire department said Crystal Lake and Somers fire departments, along with Ellington Ambulance, joined the initial response. The fire was upgraded to a multi-alarm incident, bringing mutual-aid units from Broad Brook, Vernon and Tolland.

Firefighters remained at the scene for overhaul. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was not released.
