Driver Hurt In July 4 Crash In Ellington

ELLINGTON, CT — A driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a vehicle went off the road and down an embankment in Ellington, according to a Connecticut State Police crash report.

The crash happened at about 3:35 p.m. July 4 on Overlook Pass near Lookout Landing, according to the report.

State police said the vehicle, a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan, was traveling east on Overlook Pass when the driver reported that his brakes failed. The vehicle left the roadway and traveled about 100 feet down an embankment before coming to rest, according to the report.

The Ellington resident driving the van was transported to Rockville ER with minor injuries.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, according to the report.
