Geddis was hired during the summer and introduced to the Board of Education on Aug. 24. Weeks later, videos of sermons he delivered before joining the district began circulating online.
The videos raised concerns about comments involving homosexuality, mental illness and people with special needs. Geddis was away from the high school while the district reviewed the matter.
Galloway previously said neither he nor members of the hiring committee knew about the videos when the district offered Geddis the job.
In a Sept. 28 letter to families and staff, Galloway said only that the district had accepted Geddis’ resignation. The letter did not give a reason for his departure or say when it took effect.
Galloway said at the time that Somers would begin searching for a replacement and provide updates as the process moved forward. The new job posting is the first public update on that search.
