• Chester-Hadlyme Ferry gets $8M in federal, state funding for first new vessel since 1950 (middletownpress.com) — A major upgrade is coming to the Chester-Hadlyme Ferry, which links into the Essex Connecticut River Double Cross bike trail that many local cyclists use. Connecticut will spend $8 million in federal and state funds on a new, cleaner diesel-hybrid vessel to replace the 1950-era Selden III, helping preserve this historic river crossing and its role in tourism, recreation, and emergency access.
