4th Congressional District Republican Primary Results: Winner Revealed

Dr. Michael Goldstein has been declared the winner over Daniel Miressi in the Republican primary in Connecticut's 4th Congressional District, according to the Associated Press.

The AP declared Goldstein the winner at 9:32 p.m. with 73 percent of the vote over Miressi.

Goldstein will take on incumbent Democrat Jim Himes on Nov. 3.

Goldstein is a physician and attorney, who lost to Himes in 2024, and Miressi is a former professional hockey player and current youth hockey coach, who ran unsuccessfully against state Sen. Bob Duff in 2022.

Goldstein was the party-endorsed candidate, while Miressi was a petitioning candidate.

The 4th Congressional District represents southwestern Fairfield County, and includes all or parts of the following communities (alphabetically):

• Bridgeport
• Darien
• Easton
• Fairfield
• Greenwich
• Monroe
• New Canaan
• Norwalk
• Oxford (portion)
• Redding
• Ridgefield
• Shelton (portion)
• Stamford
• Trumbull
• Weston
• Westport
• Wilton

Only registered Republicans were eligible to vote in the primary, as state law only allows for registered voters in a party to vote.
