The first event, the Local Walls Launch, is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Agency, 1636 Post Road in Fairfield. Admission is free, and the commission encourages advance registration. Light refreshments will be available.

"Local Walls was created to make art a part of everyday life," Fairfield Arts Commissioner and Local Walls Program Coordinator Cristin Bagley said in a statement. "My hope is that it helps residents and visitors discover local art, support small businesses and build stronger connections to the overall Fairfield community."

Added participating artist Beth Nori, "The Local Walls program brings the amazing talents in our town to the public; celebrating creativity in conjunction with our fabulous town businesses. Everyone benefits – the artists, the businesses, the community. It brightens our spaces while making art accessible to all, and that is a beautiful thing."

Julie Vanderblue, owner of The Vanderblue Team, said the business is participating because it values opportunities to highlight local artists.

"We're excited to participate in the Local Walls program," Vanderblue said. "At The Vanderblue Team, we're passionate about celebrating local talent and creating opportunities for connection. By showcasing the work of local artists in our office, we hope to help shine a light on their creativity while giving clients, visitors, and neighbors something beautiful and inspiring to experience."
