Fairfield Native Runs Boston Marathon For Charity
The 29-year-old, now living in Boston, raised money for FamilyAid, a Boston-based organization.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Jack Germain, a Bank of America executive and Fairfield native now living in Boston, ran his first Boston Marathon on April 20 to raise funds for a nonprofit focused on preventing family homelessness and supporting families facing housing instability.
Germain, 29, an assistant vice president for strategy and management at the bank, is raising money for FamilyAid, a Boston-based organization that provides services, education and training to help families with children avoid homelessness or transition from temporary to permanent housing; the 130th Boston Marathon marked his third marathon overall and his first time competing in the Boston race.
"I chose to run with FamilyAid because they focus on preventing family homelessness in Boston and on keeping families stable and together," Germain said in a statement. "Running the Boston Marathon for a cause that directly strengthens our local community makes every mile matter."

He added, "I never ran more than a mile before I moved to Boston. Becoming a runner here makes the Boston Marathon feel personal, and running for Family Aid Boston is a meaningful way to support the community that’s become home."
FamilyAid is among 193 organizations selected for the 2026 Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program, which provides invitational entries to nonprofit groups that recruit runners who commit to fundraising; the program accounts for nearly 10 percent of the race’s field.
