• Ex-CT Budget Official And International Fugitive Sentenced In-Absentia In Corruption Case (patch.com) — Farmington residents are learning that neighbor Konstantinos "Kosta" Diamantis, a former high-ranking state budget and school construction official, has been sentenced in absentia to seven years in federal prison for a sweeping bribery and extortion scheme. Now a fugitive believed to be in Greece, he is being actively sought by federal authorities determined to return him to the U.S. to serve his sentence.
   

• Former Bangor High girls soccer All-American Stephenson commits to UConn (bangordailynews.com) — A standout Maine soccer forward has transferred to Miss Porter's School in Farmington, where she's now a junior while preparing to play for UConn in 2028. Her move brings a nationally recognized All-American talent into the local school community, and her coaches expect her competitive drive and scoring ability to translate well to the college level.
   

• UConn's Professor Sir Cato T. Laurencin Accepts National Medical Association Award with the Imhotep Connecticut National Medical Association Society (CTNMA) (uconn.edu) — A statewide group of Black physicians recently celebrated a major national award, with its inaugural fall gala and conference held at the Farmington Polo Club. The Connecticut National Medical Association Society, led by UConn's Dr. Cato Laurencin, was honored for its work advancing health equity, mentoring, and community outreach, including programs that connect students with Black doctors and tackle racial health disparities.
