Woman Tries To Rip Off Pet Store In Glastonbury In Puppy Purchase Scheme: Police

GLASTONBURY, CT — A woman from upstate New York tried to rip off a Glastonbury pet store while making off with a dog, police said.

On Monday, Glastonbury Police arrested the 28-year-old from Corinth, NY on a fourth-degree larceny charge, according to an incident report.

Case records show that the woman was at the Puppy Palace in Glastonbury and "fraudulently purchased" a dog using invalid store credit.

The woman is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on May 18 to answer the charge, police said.

In Connecticut, Fourth-Degree Larceny is a Class A misdemeanor, charged when a person steals property or services valued at more than $1,000 and up to $2,500.
