School Resource Officer Program Launched In Granby Public Schools
In collaboration with the Granby Board of Education and with voter support, the department initiated a School Resource Officer program for Granby public schools. Evidence Room And Animal Shelter Upgrades Completed
Infrastructure improvements included an ARPA-funded renovation of the evidence room, upgrading storage systems and enhancing security for evidence and confiscated weapons. Renovations and repairs at the Granby Animal Shelter were also completed, and the facility passed inspection by the state Department of Agriculture’s Animal Control Division.
Citizen Survey Praises Professionalism, Flags Traffic Concerns
The department conducted an online citizen survey in July to gauge public perception. Respondents cited high levels of professionalism, strong emergency response and respectful officer interactions as strengths. Concerns included limited night shift patrol coverage, speeding and traffic enforcement, occasional delays in follow-up on reported incidents and a desire for publication of enforcement statistics.
Crime Declines As Calls For Service Increase
Crime statistics included in the report show reported criminal offenses declined from 277 in 2023 to 116 in 2025. Calls for service increased over the same period, rising from 11,721 in 2023 to 15,302 in 2025. Medical calls also rose each year, and motor vehicle stops increased significantly in 2024 before declining in 2025.
Sansom thanked residents and town officials for their continued support, stating the department remains committed to serving the community with integrity, transparency and respect.
