Decision Made On Classes At Greenwich Public Schools For Feb. 23
A major snowstorm is expected to impact the region from Sunday, Feb. 22, through the afternoon on Monday, Feb. 23.
GREENWICH, CT —Classes have been cancelled for Monday, Feb. 23, in Greenwich Public Schools due to the major snowstorm that's expected to impact the region over the next 24 hours. All afterschool activities are cancelled, too.
A blizzard warning has been issued for all of southern Connecticut as 60 mph wind gusts are possible Sunday night into Monday.
The heavy snow moves in this evening and really ramps up at night and Monday morning with snowfall rates of 2 inches per hour expected.

Coastal sections of Connecticut could see total snow accumulations between 17 and 24 inches. Snow accumulations between 16 and 20 inches are possible for inland areas.

The National Weather Service said travel conditions could be "treacherous" at the height of the storm. The snow should begin to ease up Monday afternoon.
"I am urging everyone to plan ahead and stay off the roads on Sunday night and through at least Monday morning," Gov. Ned Lamont said.
The Greenwich Board of Selectmen has declared a snow emergency that will restrict on-street parking throughout town.
