New Assistant Principal Appointed By Greenwich Public Schools

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones this week announced the appointment of Delis DeLeon as assistant principal of New Lebanon School, effective immediately.

DeLeon replaces Lindsey Eisenstein, who was named assistant principal of Cos Cob School at the end of the 2025-26 school year.

"Ms. Delis DeLeon has a phenomenal history of ensuring top academic performance for her students. She is passionate about every student finding success, while collaborating and supporting her colleagues," Jones said in an announcement.

"The interview committee, composed of parents and teachers, found her inspiring. Ms. DeLeon is also an educator who values the home to school connection, starting her career as a family liaison representative as she worked to complete her education degree."

DeLeon is familiar to the New Lebanon School community after serving as a fourth grade teacher there during the 2025-26 school year.

Before joining GPS, she was a special education teacher at Hyde Park Central School District's Violet Avenue School in Poughkeepsie, NY, from 2022 to 2025 and at P.S. 294 - The Walton Avenue School - in the Bronx from 2017 to 2022.

From 2013 to 2016, she served as parent coordinator at The Walton Avenue School, where she acted as a liaison between parents and school administration and conducted daily parent outreach regarding student concerns, attendance, and enrichment programs and opportunities.

"My first year with Greenwich Public Schools has truly felt like coming home, and I am ready to continue my work at New Lebanon School in a new capacity," DeLeon said. "Transitioning into the assistant principal role provides even greater opportunities to collaborate with students, families, and staff while building on the exceptional progress and accomplishments achieved under Dr. [Daniel] Russo’s leadership."

"Ms. DeLeon’s journey from parent leader to Special Education teacher and now assistant principal reflects a deep and sustained commitment to student success and community partnership," Russo said. "Her consistent focus on inclusive, student-centered practices has strengthened outcomes for all learners. We will partner together to continue advancing opportunities for our students and families at New Lebanon School."

DeLeon earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Pace University, a master's degree in early childhood and special education from Manhattan University, and a School Building Leadership certification from the College of Saint Rose.
