Historic Property That Houses The Round Hill Store Sold In Greenwich (patch.com) — A beloved piece of Greenwich history is entering a new era as the Round Hill Store property, home to what's believed to be Connecticut's oldest continuously operating retail business, changes hands to local preservation-minded owners. The Strain family will continue running the store and service station as tenants while plans are developed to renovate and potentially expand services, with community input guiding the future of this backcountry gathering spot.
   

2. International Coastal Cleanup Event To Be Held At Greenwich Point (patch.com) — Greenwich residents are invited to pitch in at Greenwich Point Park on Sept. 19 for an International Coastal Cleanup focused on clearing trash from the Long Island Sound shoreline. Volunteers of all ages can register in advance or walk in, with supplies provided and cleanup data shared with regional and global partners to better understand and fight water pollution.
   

3. Class-action lawsuit seeks refunds for Greenwich speed camera tickets (greenwichtime.com) — A Greenwich resident has filed a class-action lawsuit seeking refunds for thousands of speed camera tickets issued in local school zones, alleging the town and its vendor violated multiple state requirements. The suit challenges how the ordinance was adopted, how revenue was handled, and the vendor's fee structure, after cameras generated over $1.3 million before being suspended in April. If successful, many ticketed drivers could receive money back.
   

4. Old Greenwich High Holiday Services Expand This Year (greenwichfreepress.com) — Jewish Riverside Old Greenwich is expanding its free High Holiday services this year, with Rosh Hashanah at the renovated Cohen Eastern Greenwich Civic Center and Yom Kippur at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich. Families can also join a community Shofar blowing and Tashlich at Binney Park on Sunday, September 13. Space is limited, so residents are encouraged to register in advance online.
   

5. Memory of Edward Schachter Honored with Greenwich Ave Bench Dedication (greenwichfreepress.com) — A new memorial bench on Greenwich Avenue now honors Edward "Eddie" Schachter, founder of Richard's and a beloved figure in Greenwich's business and Jewish communities. Local officials, family, and friends gathered to celebrate his legacy and reflect on the broader history of Jewish merchants in town. The dedication underscores how immigrant-owned shops helped shape Greenwich's character and commercial district.
