47 Families Displaced As Massive Blaze Rips Through Groton Apartment Building
Eighteen area fire departments responded and two firefighters were injured, according to reports.
GROTON, CT — Forty-seven families were displaced and two firefighters were injured after a three-alarm blaze tore through an apartment building in Groton, according to FOX 61.
The fire was reported at The Ledges Apartment Homes on Ledgewood Road early Sunday morning.
Firefighters responded to extinguish the blaze, which spread to multiple floors and the attic, at around 3 a.m., FOX 61 reported.

Most southeastern Connecticut fire departments responded to deal with the large fire, with 18 agencies called in, WTNH News-8 reported.
A fire official said those apartments not damaged by fire were damaged by smoke and water. All but one of the units were occupied at the time, according to WTNH News-8.

Some residents were able to return to their apartments Sunday afternoon to get some of their belongings, but the building remains uninhabitable.
No residents were injured. Two firefighters had minor injuries.
