Friends of the Blackstone Library Announces Location for 2026 Fall Book Sale

It's tradition that the Friends of James Blackstone Memorial Library annual Fall Book Sale be held on the town Green, but this year the sale will be held in a different location. Given the Main Street Reconstruction Project, we are excited to announce that the book sale will be held this year at Branford Train Station (upper lot) on September 17-20. Branford  Train Station, a few minutes from the Green, is on 39 Maple Street.

You will find at the sale a wide range of highly curated and carefully selected books for all interests and ages, including fiction, biography, history, literature & poetry, sheet music, and children's and teens books, plus CD's, DVD's, vinyl and much more.  The Fall Book Sale is the Friends' biggest fundraiser of the year with over 50,000 items for sale and includes 42 different categories and 235 subcategories.

The sale begins on Thursday, September 17 at 5:00 pm for Friends members only, then opens to the public at 7:00 pm.  Hours are 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19 and from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 20.  A $10 fill-a-bag promotion will take place on Sunday with bags provided.

Friends of James Blackstone Memorial Library is an all-volunteer non-profit organization formed to support the Blackstone Library in providing enrichment programs, activities and materials for adults, teens and children through fundraising and advocacy. Funds raised by Friends go towards library programming, museum passes, digital subscriptions, book purchasing and much more.
