Road Closures Announced For Guilford Fair Parade
Here's what to know about the parade route and associated road closures.
GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Fair Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, with road closures planned around the Green.
The parade will begin at the intersection of Whitfield, Water and Boston streets and continue around the Green, traveling north on Whitfield Street to Broad Street, east on Broad Street to Park Street and south on Park Street to Boston Street.
The parade will then proceed east on Boston Street to South Union Street. Floats will continue along South Union Street to Calvin Leete School, where riders will disembark.

Whitfield Street will close between Stonehouse Lane and Boston Street at 8:45 a.m., and no traffic will be allowed between those locations, according to an announcement from police.
The only open route to the Town Docks will be Boston Street to South Union Street, Stonehouse Lane and Whitfield Street.

The rest of the parade route will close at 9:50 a.m. Roads are expected to remain closed until about noon or until all floats and parade participants have cleared the route.
No-parking signs will be placed along the parade route Friday night. Vehicles parked in those areas may be towed.
