Hamden Fest 2023: Details Announced For Annual Event
The annual event features road races, concerts, food trucks, arts & crafts and more.
HAMDEN, CT — Kicking off the summer season, the 4th Annual Hamden Fest, sponsored by the Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Hamden, will take place on Saturday, June 3 at Hamden Town Center Park, and it promises to be bigger than ever, according to organizers.
Last year’s Hamden Fest brought more than 8,000 spectators to Town Center Park to enjoy a full day of events. This year’s Hamden Fest will include the Hamden Fest Half Marathon and 5K Road Race, Business Expo, Arts, Craft & Civic Fair, Kids & Sports Zone, the Friends of the Hamden Public Library Book Sale Fundraiser, live bands starting at 11 a.m. with the Liz McNicholl Band and the Wango Tango Band and a variety of food trucks.
“The Chamber and the Town of Hamden have been working to bring together the biggest community event for the whole family to celebrate all that Hamden has to offer,” said Nancy Dudchik, Hamden Regional Chamber President. “We want people to come out and celebrate our businesses, our artists, and all of what makes our community so rich.”

A new part of Hamden Fest this year will be the Half Marathon that will take place all on the Farmington Canal Trail. The road races will offer runners and walkers a safe environment and beautiful scenery on the paved trail and starts at 9 a.m., according to a news release. The 5K Race starts at 9:30 a.m. For more information and to register, visit www.teammossman.com.
“We are also excited to have Hamden’s own Steve Rodgers as the feature concert,” officials wrote in the news release. “Connecticut Magazine 2022 wrote – Stephen Peter Rodgers has been one of Connecticut music’s biggest supporters and a member of its fraternity since his days fronting alt-rock act Mighty Purple in the 1990s and early 2000s, and as former owner of The Space, The Outer Space and the Ballroom at the Outer Space in Hamden. He returns with his newest solo album, one that sees the Hamden singer-songwriter combine his alt-rock roots with a distinct indie-folk perspective, creating something wholly unique in the process. Stephen Peter Rodgers and Friends will start at 5 p.m. and is presented by the Hamden Department of Arts, Culture, Recreation & Wellness.
