Hamden Girls Volleyball Edges Guilford In Season Opener: PHOTOS

HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden girls volleyball team opened the season with a 3-2 victory over Guilford on Tuesday at Hamden High School.

Guilford won the first set before the Green Dragons battled back by taking the next two sets, by scores of 25-17 and 25-18. Guilford evened things up by winning the fourth set, 25-22, and Hamden took home the victory with a 15-8 win in the fifth set.

Bella Green had 18 kills and four aces for Hamden, while Malayza Smith had six kills, six aces, and two blocks, and Tamia Walters finished with seven aces, three kills, and 19 assists, according to GameTimeCT.com.

Hamden will play Jonathan Law in a road game on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 5:15 p.m. in Milford.
