Hamden Man Suffers Stab Wounds, Walks Into Yale-New Haven Hospital: New Haven Police

The man was "apparently intoxicated" and "not overly cooperative," according to New Haven police.

NEW HAVEN, CT — New Haven police responded, but the crime took place in Hamden, investigators later determined.

Sunday at around 11:30 a.m., New Haven police posted to "X" that they were "out with a stabbing victim at Yale New Haven Hospital."

In an update late Monday morning, police shared on social media that it turned out the stabbing incident did not occur in New Haven.

According to New Haven police spokesperson Officer Christian Bruckhart, a 24-year-old Hamden man showed up at the hospital suffering from stab wounds.

"Apparently he was intoxicated and doesn't know where it happened," but police determined that the man was stabbed in his own town. "He was not overly cooperative," Bruckhart said.

The man's injuries were not life-threatening, Bruckhart said.
